The Mini Hippo, more formally known as the Cocker-Pei is an incredible designer crossbreed that is not yet a household name. The parents of this breed are the Chinese Sharpei and the American Cocker Spaniel. These dogs aren’t just companions, but also used in the military, for herding, sighting, and racing.

This unique breed has a fantastic personality, and they make wonderful family pets as they get along well with children and other animals. In terms of training, the Mini Hippo can be stubborn and strong-willed, but they are responsive to positive reinforcement. Owners must establish pack-leader status with these dogs otherwise they may become dominant over the household. Early socialization is also necessary to avoid overly-protective behavior with strangers and other dogs.

Overall, the Mini Hippo is a level-headed and gentle dog. However, they do have a loud and deep bark that will alert you of anyone walking by. Shar-peis are known to have a strong bite, which the Mini Hippo also inherits. While they are gentle dogs that don’t normally bite, they will do what it takes to protect their families. Of course, proper training is necessary to curb any wanted aggression. These dogs may become possessive of their owners and families, showing jealousy if they don’t get enough attention.

Mini Hippos require a moderate amount of daily exercise. They enjoy walking and jogging with their owners as well as inneractive playtime. Be aware that these dogs overheat easily, so they may need to take breaks mid-exercise.

*One Year health warranty– if the puppy is diagnosed by a licensed veterinarian as “unfit for purchase” due to a congenital or genetic defect within 1 year after purchase, the customer has the option to return the puppy for a refund, return the puppy for a replacement, or to keep the puppy and receive reimbursement of reasonable veterinary fees incurred to attempt to cure the illness, up to the purchase price. (certain additional coverage and/or restrictions may apply, see contract for details as per Florida Statute 828.29)

SOCIALIZATION

The breeder handles all of the early care and socialization for our puppies before arrival. Upon arrival, our staff and management team provide for the puppies all of their dietary, grooming and socialization needs on a daily basis until they go to their forever homes.

Acclimating the puppies and teaching them to be calm while brushing, nail clipping, and bathing is just a small part of our socialization program. The puppies are handled daily in a variety of situations and with different people so that when they reach their new home they are ready to be happy, well-adjusted companions, and ready for their forever homes where our customers will then continue to provide all of their training and socialization needs to ensure that they become well adjusted members of their family.

All of the puppies offered for sale through our licensed facility have been examined by a minimum of two licensed veterinarians prior to being offered for sale. Every puppy we sell is certified by a licensed veterinarian as “fit for sale”. In addition, each puppy receives age appropriate vaccinations and parasite control treatment.

Our veterinarian is on call and visits us often to assist us in maintaining our state of the art facility where our puppies are our utmost concern. Each puppy is examined shortly after arrival and then re-examined as needed and/or every 14 days while it stays with us.

The number one reason people say they put off purchasing a puppy is the fear that they won’t be able to train it properly. In fact, some of the first questions we hear from clients when they’re considering just such a purchase are the following:

Is this breed type easy to train? How long does housebreaking take? Can I train a puppy even though I work? Can my kids help with the training? Should I purchase a puppy when I’m on vacation to make training easier? Do I need to fence in my yard before I purchase a puppy? Before a customer even takes their new puppy home, our staff goes through housebreaking procedures step by step. Our housebreaking techniques are applied around a working couples schedule and requires no paper training. In addition, some breeds can be litter box trained which works well for elderly clients, customers that work long hours, or apartment dwellers. Of course once the puppy is at home, the training goes further. Our staff are available by phone seven days a week for any questions or advice the new puppy owners have about housebreaking, feeding, problem correction etc. In addition, our website offers private access to an online site with tons of advice covering many aspects of obedience training, socialization, feeding, and care for your puppy!

Developed by a veterinarian, the micro-chip is a tiny cylinder (smaller than a grain of rice) that contains a personal, one of a kind identification number that is so tiny that it fits through a hypodermic needle. As opposed to pet stores that price their puppies high and then drop the price lower after the puppy has sat in the store for a long time, our puppies are priced individually according to quality, providing a wide range of prices. Our puppies stay with us for a very short period of time before going to their forever homes. Since we sell our puppies very quickly, we receive new puppies from our large network of breeders on a continuous basis, therefore offering a large selection of puppies to choose from. We accept all major credit cards, as well as cash and personal checks. In addition, we offer financing.

We travel throughout the country each year, visiting many breeders, and taking pictures of many puppy parents as well as the breeder’s homes, so you can see the source of many of our puppies, giving you peace of mind when you purchase a puppy from us.

Along with pictures, if you’re curious about our breeders, we have biographies of many of our breeders depicting what their life is like, how they got started with breeding, how many children and pets that they have, their jobs, and how they spend their free time. This gives you detailed insight that is not readily available from many other sources.

PUPPY VACCINATIONS

As part of a good start, all of our puppies receive antibodies from their fully vaccinated moms at birth. The breeder then continues to provide protections against disease and viruses for their pups by vaccinating each puppy at the appropriate times, prior to leaving their home.

EXAM BY TWO VETS

It’s important to us that our customers feel that we are doing our best, therefore all of our puppies are examined by a licensed veterinarian prior to arrival to us and examined again by a Florida licensed veterinarian prior to sale to add a double layer of protection that our puppies are ready for their new homes.

TRANSPORTING THE PUPPIES

The transport and arrival of the puppies is an important step in their wellbeing after leaving their mom and we want to make that experience as relaxing as possible. For that reason, each puppy is delivered to us only by licensed and inspected transportation vehicles that are in full compliance of state and federal regulations, safely driven by experienced drivers and cared for by puppy technicians that provide quality care during their travel time.

MICROCHIPS

Our breeders care about their puppies safety and so do we! For that reason, every puppy is micro-chipped. This tiny implant offers additional safety protocols so that in the event the pup ever gets lost or stolen, he can be returned safely to his home to his loved ones.
