Typically, between 20 -24 inches tall at the shoulders (withers), and weighing between 35 - 65 pounds, the Husky is intelligent and a bundle of energy, making him well suited for only the most active of lifestyles. The breed was well portrayed in several films including Eight Below and Snow Dogs.

The Husky is active and full of energy, needing an intense amount of interactions, both physical and mental to quench his thirst for exercise. He is intelligent and capable of thinking through a problem, but most of the time his desire to get there will just lend itself to his acting without thinking, especially if he is bored. This breed does best with an active family or person that is looking for a jogging partner, hiking buddy, or children's playmate. Early socialization, obedience training, and consistent exercise are recommended to ensure that the Husky is a well-behaved housedog as he matures.
The Husky has a short, thick coat that requires only frequent brushing to maintain. Shedding is considered moderate to heavy. Colors include black/white, red/white, copper/white, agouti/white, gray/white and they can have brown eyes, blue eyes, or split eyes. Average lifespan for the breed is 10 - 14 years.
