Coming from highly intelligent breeds, the Miki-poo should be fairly easy to train with little stubbornness. Of course, training from early on using positive reinforcement and a consistent firm hand is necessary to ensure obedience. Though they’re not known to be aggressive, Miki-poos should be socialized early on to ensure they get along with other dogs, pets, and strangers. Though they’re alert, they don’t make the best guard dogs as they’re calm and social nature welcomes rather than warns.
Miki-poos have a moderate amount of energy which requires a moderate amount of daily exercise in the form of long walks and interactive playtime. While they can adapt to apartment life, a home with a fenced-in yard is preferred for this breed as they enjoy having free space to run around in. Miki-poos become very attached to their owners, and don’t like to be left alone for long periods of time. They tend to develop separation anxiety and will resort to destructive behaviors.
