The Huskypoo, also known as the Huskydoodle, Siberpoo, and Poosky is a designer crossbreed between the Poodle and the Siberian Husky. The Huskipoo came around in the 90s after the Labradoodle first made its appearance and long lasting impression. The Poodle is a highly intelligent breed with a good-natured temperament, making them extremely popular for the creation of designer breeds.

The Huskipoo is a highly active and energetic mix of the two parent breeds that’s also hypoallergenic—making it the perfect dog for active people who have allergies. Due to the Huskipoo’s energy levels, they do best with active families and homes with fenced-in yards. This dog is not suitable for apartment life or inexperienced dog owners.

Huskipoos require obedience training and socialization from the moment they are brought home. The more strict their routine, the better, as these dogs require a great deal of mental stimulation in addition to their regular daily exercise. They are the type of dog that needs a “job to do,” and when left on their own for long periods of time they tend to become destructive.

The Huskipoo makes a great addition to an active family that likes to spend a lot of time outdoors, and will get along very well with children. Of course, small children should be supervised due to the breed’s size and high energy levels. They also tend to latch onto one particular family member. With proper socialization they will get along fine with other dogs, however they prefer to be the only one in the house.
