The Havapoo, also referred to as the Poovanese, is a fluffy designer crossbreed whose parents are the Cuban Havanese and the Poodle. Due to the size variances of the Poodle, you can find both toy-sized and miniature Havapoos. This energetic little breed is also hypo-allergenic, making it a the perfect cuddly companion for allergy sufferers.

Both the Poodle and the Havanese are watchful, obedient breeds, making the Havapoo highly trainable. They do best with positive reinforcement, especially when they become stubborn and sensitive. Havapoos are very kid friendly and will get along well with other pets and strangers, given that they are socialized properly early on.
Havapoos have a moderate amount of energy. They require daily walks or romps around the backyard as well as interactive playtime with their owners. Indoor playtime and exercise will suffice if it’s the only option, but outdoor exercise is always preferred. Havapoos are not effective guard dogs, but they will alert their owners of the company at the door. These dogs do suffer from separation anxiety, so they should not be left alone for long periods of time.
