The Puggle is a relatively new designer breed whose parents are the Pug and the Beagle. They’re also one of the most sought after breeds as they are very sociable and lovable, and will get along with everyone in the family, including children and other pets. They’re known to bark to alert their owners of company, but due to their sociable nature, they’re more welcoming than cautious with strangers.

These sweet, cuddly dogs may also have a stubborn streak inherited from their Pug parent, making them somewhat difficult to train. Much like their Beagle parent, they may also inherit the urges to wander and howl. Puggles are energetic and active, requiring up to an hour of exercise daily. Despite their energy levels, they’d prefer long walks over running with their owners. This is because they’re energy comes out in short bursts, which is good for agility training and challenges.

Puggles are highly adaptable and will do well living in small apartments or average-sized homes. Like most designer companion breeds, Puggles are known to suffer from separation anxiety, and should not be left alone. They also must be socialized and trained beginning at a young age to prevent aggressive behaviors, including chewing and digging.
