Klee kai is an Inuit term meaning “small dog.” The Klee Kai is a mix of Siberian and Alaskan Husky, Alaskan Malamute, Schipperke, and American Eskimo. It has a double coat that is shed twice each year.

Though the Klee Kai most resembles its Husky heritage, it’s not an overly active dog. It is, however, highly intelligent, and somewhat vocal. They are known to be escape artists, have a fantastic sense of humor, and great hunting instincts. As a companion dog, the Klee Kai benefits greatly from spending a large amount of time with its family.

The Klee Kai is highly trainable and needs a moderate amount of exercise. They make great family dogs. They can at times be shy around strangers. They should be socialized well with both humans and other dogs from a young age to avoid shy or aggressive behavior. They can get along with cats but should not be left alone with smaller animals unsupervised.
