This breed is commonly known as an “aussie” and was in fact developed in the western United States not Australia, as some mistakenly believe. The breed was originally bred as a ranch dog to herd and protect the livestock on the farm. Today, the Aussie is versatile enough to be a devoted house companion but still enjoys top billing as an excellent choice for farm dog work throughout the world as well as agility, obedience, herding, flyball, and many other dog sports.
This breed will excel in any job given to it but must have a job in order to thrive. Known as energetic, smart and loyal, this breed is shockingly intelligent and requires consistent, mental as well as physical exercise in order to prevent compulsive or poor behaviors from developing due to boredom. This is not a breed to be owned by a couch potato or anyone that has only a little time to spend with their pet. Aussies are great jogging companions, love to swim, hike, and are always up for a good game of fetch. It is said that a tired Aussie is a good Aussie, but it takes a lot to tire an Aussie out! Only a person or family with a strong desire to spend a lot of consistent, active time with their dog should consider this breed. Aussies are known to be devoted family dogs that love their family and generally do well with children and other pets. They do well in a variety of environments, cold or warm weather, apartment or home, single owner or large family, and bond deeply with their family. Early training and socialization is strongly encouraged to ensure a well balanced dog of good character for companionship in the home.
With average sizes being 40-60 pounds and standing 18-23 inches tall at shoulders, the average lifespan of the breed is 10-15 Years. Colors vary greatly from solids to merles of both red and blue, and tri colors. Shedding is considered to be moderate and the coat can be maintained through regular grooming sessions with a good brush to prevent matting and keep the coat in good condition. Ears can be down or stand erect, tails can be naturally long or bobtail.

Is this breed type easy to train? How long does housebreaking take? Can I train a puppy even though I work? Can my kids help with the training? Should I purchase a puppy when I’m on vacation to make training easier? Do I need to fence in my yard before I purchase a puppy? Our decision to offer unlimited training assistance to our new puppy owners at no additional charge, has proven to be a huge success. Unlike other facilities that offer nothing, or simply a referral to a trainer that typically charges hundreds of dollars for a basic lesson course, we offer written training advice and assistance for the life of the puppy.
Before a customer even takes their new puppy home, our staff goes through housebreaking procedures step by step. Our housebreaking techniques are applied around a working couples schedule and requires no paper training. In addition, some breeds can be litter box trained which works well for elderly clients, customers that work long hours, or apartment dwellers. Of course once the puppy is at home, the training goes further. Our staff are available by phone seven days a week for any questions or advice the new puppy owners have about housebreaking, feeding, problem correction etc. In addition, our website offers private access to an online site with tons of advice covering many aspects of obedience training, socialization, feeding, and care for your puppy!

More About MicrochippingNationally, every two seconds a family pet is lost. That represents millions of pets every year! Shelters do their very best to locate owners, but if your pet has no form of identification, there’s not much they can do. Shelters are already caring for so many lost and homeless pets and can only keep them all for a short period of time. Meanwhile, owners are frantically spending time and money trying to find their beloved pet. Tragically, many never make it back home.
Developed by a veterinarian, the micro-chip is a tiny cylinder (smaller than a grain of rice) that contains a personal, one of a kind identification number that is so tiny that it fits through a hypodermic needle. It is implanted under the skin of your pet just like a vaccination and has been proven both safe and effective. After being injected into your pet, it remains there safely for life. The pet owner then simply registers their pet’s micro-chip number and supplies the micro-chip company with important contact information so that in the event that their pet gets lost or stolen, the animal shelter or veterinarian hospital that picks up their animal can simply scan the animal with a special scanner, retrieve the identification number, punch that number into a computer and have the owner on the phone in a matter of minutes! Every puppy that we offer for sale has already been implanted with a micro-chip!
*Prices of puppies may start as low as $399.00 and depending on the individual, can go up from there.
Along with pictures, if you’re curious about our breeders, we have biographies of many of our breeders depicting what their life is like, how they got started with breeding, how many children and pets that they have, their jobs, and how they spend their free time. This gives you detailed insight that is not readily available from many other sources.
As part of a good start, all of our puppies receive antibodies from their fully vaccinated moms at birth. The breeder then continues to provide protections against disease and viruses for their pups by vaccinating each puppy at the appropriate times, prior to leaving their home.
EXAM BY TWO VETS
It’s important to us that our customers feel that we are doing our best, therefore all of our puppies are examined by a licensed veterinarian prior to arrival to us and examined again by a Florida licensed veterinarian prior to sale to add a double layer of protection that our puppies are ready for their new homes.
TRANSPORTING THE PUPPIES
The transport and arrival of the puppies is an important step in their wellbeing after leaving their mom and we want to make that experience as relaxing as possible. For that reason, each puppy is delivered to us only by licensed and inspected transportation vehicles that are in full compliance of state and federal regulations, safely driven by experienced drivers and cared for by puppy technicians that provide quality care during their travel time.
Our breeders care about their puppies safety and so do we! For that reason, every puppy is micro-chipped. This tiny implant offers additional safety protocols so that in the event the pup ever gets lost or stolen, he can be returned safely to his home to his loved ones.
Chews A Puppy stands behind our puppies and it shows. We offer extensive, written health warrantees! Offering comprehensive, written protections to our customers is our way of showing how much we care!
